Rochester Division Finalist for Penfield Award

Baker Commodities, Inc Rochester Division was selected as a finalist for the Penfield Business Association of the Year Award. Baker was one of six businesses selected for this prestigious award. The finalists were honored at the Penfield Business Association Annual Awards Dinner at the Penfield Country Club on October 27, 2011. Baker Commodities' Rochester Division gathered for their annual company picnic on Sunday, September 18, 2011. It was a beautiful fall day and the families and children enjoyed the food, games, bouncy house and fresh ice cream from the ice cream truck.

 Baker Commodities, Inc. remembers the tragic events that occured ten years ago.  We remember the lives lost during the attacks on America.  You will never be forgotten! We also honor those rescuers who rushed head-first into the buildings, the rubble, and the city of New York. Those who lost their lives and those who are still experiencing the effects of this tragedy, we stand by you.  And we honor those military personnel from the past and currently fighting the battles to protect America.

Employee News from Billerica Division

July 25th 2011

Baker Commodities would like to congratulate Joe Huelsman on his promotion from General Manager to Vice President of Baker Commodities. Joe has been with Baker almost 25 years, and has many years of industry experience prior to joining the company.

Joe's previous role as General Manager will now be taken on by Walter Gurschick Jr. who served as Plant Manager for 20 years. With a lifetime of experience and knowledge in the rendering industry, Walter is a natural for the new position.

Craig Williams will assume the role as new Plant Manager after spending 9 years as Chief Engineer. He will follow in Walter’s footsteps by ensuring the plant will operate safely and efficiently.

John Charest will be promoted after 37 years with Baker, from Procurement Manager to Assistant General Manager.

Congratulations to these gentlemen, and we wish them all the best in their new roles.

Billerica Summer Outing

The annual summer outing at Canobie Lake Park was held on June 12th. Many showed up despite poor weather, and enjoyed the rides, food and company. This outing is held each year to thank all Baker employees throughout New England for their safe and hard work. We credit our Safety Director Ray Bessette for brilliantly organizing this event, as well as all others who lent a helping hand. Also big thanks to Vice President Joe Huelsman and General Manager Walter Gurschick. Their generosity is very much appreciated by all employees.

Baker Commodities' Hanford Division congratulates Tammie Hook for completing her 30th year with Baker. She has been an outstanding employee, supporting the team and making the office a brighter place to work!

And Kerman Division would like to introduce a new employee, Sandra Green. Sandra is the new controller for the Kerman/Hanford Division. We are proud to welcome her to the Baker family.
